A teenager has been charged with illegal possession of ammunition after the police seized 21 assorted rounds of ammunition during an operation in Bedward Gardens, August Town, St Andrew on Sunday.
The police say his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
According to police reports, about 4:30 p.m., a team was in the area when five males including the teen were seen sitting on an old motor car.
On seeing the police, four of them reportedly ran.
The teen was accosted, searched and nineteen 9mm rounds of ammunition and three 5.56 rounds of ammunition were found in a knapsack he was carrying, according to the police.
He was arrested and subsequently charged. He is scheduled to appear before court at a later date.
