Kingston: The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is reporting that there has been a 21% reduction in Murder as at December 1, 2018.
Among the figures issued by the security force, shooting is down by 21.4%, rape 12.2%, and aggreviated assault down 11.8%.
The report added that St James is the parish with the highest level of reduction for the period Jan 1 to Dec 1 2018, with murder down by 70%. The second highest level of reduction is Kingston Central, with a decrease of 44.4%. Followed by Manchester down 40.9%, St Ann 27.6% and St Catherine North where a State of Emergency is now effective, is down 26.8%.
The JCF said they are committed to ensuring a steady reduction in the levels of crime across the island, as they initiated an all island operation on Tuesday.
