The Opposition Peoples National Party (PNP) yesterday declared during a press conference that they are aware of the Political Risk for withdrawing their support, amidst concerns from residents who live in the areas of the State of Emergencies (SOEs).
Opposition Leader Dr Peter Phillips said they stand by their decision because the party has to do the right thing.
He also outlined the arguments the opposition put forward in the debate on Tuesday which led to the decision of their decision to withdraw their support of the SOEs.
The PNP’s response follows a release from Public Sector groups yesterday calling on the opposition to reconsider their decision. The opposition unanimously voted on Tuesday to discontinue the extension of the SOEs in St James, St Catherine North and in the Corporate area.
