The daughter of 62 year old Dawnette Maxwell who was shot and killed by a district constable at a police station in Islington, St Mary is refuting claims that her mother was in a relationship with the officer.
The young lady said her mother was killed because her grandson was refusing to be in a relationship with the 25 year old constable, Toya Ormsby, who shot himself.
According to reports Ms Maxwell went to the police station to have speak with the constable about her grandson, when shortly after explosions were heard. They later found Ms Maxwell and the constable with gunshot wounds outside the police station.
The constabulary’s Corporate Communications (CCU) Unit said that the compliancy unit of the police force has been activated to offer grief counselling to all parties affected by the incident.
The community safety and security Branch has also been directed to offer support, CCU said.
